Advice From A Tree

A tree once told me,

"Stand tall."

I asked it, "But how?"

He replied,

"First, have strong roots."

I thought to myself,

This tree ought to know.

He's stood there for more than fifty years.

He's the tallest thing here!

I asked the tree,

"How do you stay tall...

When winds blow their gails of gusts at you?

How do you stand tall...

When it would be so much easier to fall?"

To which he replied,

"I grew strong roots"

"Besides, you can't enjoy this view, from down on the ground."
