From Afar

You're beatiful and smart,
Funny and kind, too.
And even a little endearingly tart.
But that's just you.

You make me laugh,
And we talk about everything.
I've made you mad,
Which makes me sad,
But you always forgive me,
Which makes me happy.

We met this summer.
Within hours I developed a crush,
And evertime I would see you,
I would blush.

You probably think I'm awkward, weird, and odd.
But you still want to be my friend,
But I wish we could be more.
I know that's probably not going to happen,
So you I shall adore,
From friendship afar.

I think of you often,
And a smile comes across my face.
I want to text you,
but I feel as if I annoy you.
Then you text me,
which makes my day.
Oh, you bring such joy,
but I will just love you from afar.
