AFRAID

I’m afraid the wind will steal my lips I’m afraid someone will cut off my fingers I’m afraid of long stacks of papers Afraid of long hills or a person who kills Please put me in a box and out of sight Don’t let me go outside I’m afraid someone will open my bathroom door And see me naked I’m afraid if they walk away And leave me stranded Please put me in a box and out of sight Don’t let me go outside I’m afraid I won’t finish my paintings And when people laugh I’m afraid when they smoke And when I don’t want to finish my crafts Please put me in a box and out of sight Don’t let me go outside I’m afraid my mother will drag me And force me to move out I’m afraid my father will stop Writing poems and paints a cloud Please put me in a box and out of sight Don’t let me go outside I’m afraid of that boy who’s always starring I’m afraid of that huge ring she’s always wearing I’m afraid to speak and no one is hearing I’m afraid to stay quiet and not be happy Don’t put me in a box put me in a train And say goodbye, Don’t put me in a box out me in a train and say goodbye.
