Afraid of the Fall

I'm afraid of the fall, not the ground.

I'm used to being on the ground, hitting the ground.

It's the fall.

The further I set myself up, the harder I fall.

I keep setting myself higher and higher each time I fall,

Thinking maybe,

"This time I won't fall."

But I always fall.

And that terrifies me.
