Afraid to Love

Dear Andrew,

As I walk down the crowded halls, I feel your eyes burning into me.

But I turn my gaze away from yours so easily.

You say my name but I don’t say yours

I love you

Your life continues on while trying to meet my eyes.

And every day, I dread when you will finally give up.

When you finally realize that you will never truly know me and I will never know you.

And when that day comes, I will regret not meeting your eyes or saying your name

Because I was afraid to love you and now my time is gone.

So Long,

Lexi
