African American Historical Figures

Our chosen color is black

We want to talk about something new

Rosa Parks on the bus

Her problem sparks a light in all of us

Michael Jackson; the King of Pop

His music flew him to the top

Prince and his Purple Rain

We may never know his pain

Alicia Keys and her musical ability

She inspires with her nobility

Whitney Houston and her grand voice

When she steps on stage, the crowd errupts with noise

Martin Luther King Jr. and his message

He powered through the wreckage
