In memory of Martin Luther King and others lost tragically before their time and before their potential in the human struggle for freedom.

Tears well
but do not flow,
now.

A wet coalescence
inures in supreme silence

Yields to
unwilling acceptance,
extreme longing
for peaceful moments.

Later -
as memories flash, stories unfold,
amongst whispered prayers,

Hate forged deep within their hearts
bringing ultimate sadness.

Yet,
current realities bring ultimate hope
and shift our thought
to things still needed to be done,

As tears suddenly flow
out from my colored eyes.
