After
He took my heart he made me fly
Then he shoot me right out of the sky
He took my heart he made me swim
to the bottom of the ocean and back again
He threw the line
I took the bait
He drew me in now I’m a lying on a plate
“I’ll always be there” in a way he said…
Then he left me for “fill in the blank”.
Now I’m picking up the pieces and hoping
How do I fix something that was already broken?
Somebody asked me if I knew him
I just smiled and said once upon a time
Now all I can do is move on with my day
Holding back tears acting ok.
I lost myself to please everyone else
Don’t tell me I've changed
When he gave me the knife
Don’t say I've cut him off
All I did was stop living his life.
“I’ll always be there” in a way he said…
Then he left me for “fill in the blank”.
Now I’m picking up the pieces and hoping
How do I fix something that was already broken?
He’s the enemy of my crazy world
He rob’s me of my peace
While I stand here empty hands
Because I feel so incomplete
Since things aren't what he want’s to see
He’s only seeing part of me
There's so much more of me
Then he’ll ever see
“I’ll always be there” in a way he said…
Then he left me for “fill in the blank”.
Now I’m picking up the pieces and hoping
How do I fix something that was already broken?
If I love him
I’ll set them free
If comes back he's mine to keep
If he doesn't he never was
So in the end my
Safe haven is often the place
Where you will find my deepest heartache
“I’ll always be there” in a way he said…
Then he left me for “fill in the blank”.
But I’m picking up the pieces knowing
I’ll never fix something that was already broken.
