After Campgrounds Dismissed

The Beginning:

A couple days in a place we couldn’t call home,

It only took several moments "When in Rome".

Not a single word spoken yet in front of my eyes,

Was the one I’ve been dreaming of to my surprise.

After heads turn and twist,

We still couldn’t resist.

The roots of our story, after campgrounds dismissed.

His Birthday:

It was the October 6th.

His birthday couldn’t be missed.

He wanted to see me, so what did he do?

Volunteered as mcgruff, a big old cockapoo.

I held his arms to guide him to places.

He was pet and hugged by these cute little faces.

And after the event, we went home for some tea.

My parents, they wanted to meet him with me.

Although it was awkward and I expected the worst,

Its wasn’t all bad and that was a first.

Homecoming:

Sweets and makeup, shoes and a dress,

A public proposal, his love was confessed.

Excitements and shivers went through my spine.

The day when it happened, I knew he was mine.

But the music was strange, things weren’t as planned.

He saved day while holding my hand.

Into a field, under the stars,

An innocent kiss, the best by far.

Hersheypark:

A whole day with his family, all to a theme park.

Rides like comet, adventures embark.

Although he wasn’t fond of all of the rides,

He didn’t hesitate to take me right by his side.

The family was quirky and all kinds of fun.

It was the best time I’ve ever had with anyone.

He spoiled me with candy, food, and prizes

But with the check of the time, a problem arises.

Toward the end of the day we were both great wrecks.

We put each other's names on the pendants on our necks.

But the day was amazing, I felt so free

To be myself with his arms around me.

The End of the Beginning:

Memories were made and all was fun.

And I’m able to assure there’s yet more to come.

And whenever we fight, it puts my heart to a pause.

I know it’s temporary and will be resolved.

He takes my ideas and he gives me light.

A healthy relationship is one that feels right.
