The Aftermath
Because I love you,
I gave you my innocence
Because I love you,
My morals came second after you
Because I love you,
I did things that I knew weren’t right because you said that’s what girls did to prove their love for you
Because I love you,
I forgave you for cheating on me those “few” times
Because I love you,
I developed depression
Because I love you,
I kept my inner emotions hidden from you as I didn’t want to “ruin the mood”
Because I loved you
I knew when enough was enough
Because I loved you,
I knew that you were seeking for lust, nothing you ever did for me was ever out of love
Because I loved you,
I was courageous enough to tell you “this is over”
Because I loved you,
I stopped responding in an effort to make my point clear
Because I loved you,
I’d breakdown and hyperventilate whenever I came across your profile and see another girl’s name
Even though you don’t love me,
I still think about you when I’m in my deepest thoughts
Even though you don’t love me,
I always come across your street when I’d go to see my friends
Even though you don’t love me,
I still hoped to receive a text from you to give me an excuse to forgive you
Even though you don’t love me,
Your name has been tattooed across my heart reminding me of your very last presence
As I now move on,
I realize how much of a distant memory you have become
As I now move on,
The thought of you no longer makes my heart race in excitement
As I now move on,
I no longer have the desire to come back to you
As you now moved on,
You “regret” not being the best boyfriend I wish you could’ve been
As you now moved on,
You find yourself having lost your own ridiculous game
As I’m starting to live my life I realized
You were once my heroin,
I used to be so foolishly addicted to you
But once I got you out of my system, I started to love myself for the times you didn't
So for you, my tears will no longer shed as you are no longer mi cariño.
