At The Age of 6

The day of realization that

My childhood has ended

No more going outside to play

No more fun times with friends

I didn’t have any other option but to mature

After seeing my mom go through depression

Maturity struck like a lightning bolt

I had to clean, take care of myself and my older brother

I didn’t have time to enjoy my childhood, instead the role of an adult stuck me

Imagine all of your friends having fun while your stuck in a house taking care of parental duties

You might ask why did she have to grow up so fast

But there Weren’t any options after one parent left

I always wanted to experience what every little girl got to experience

The only childhood memories I had was off cleaning the house, cooking food, and taking care of my mother and my brother

At the age of 6 my childhood was over
