Alarm Clock

"Beep,beep."

The headache starts.

My eyes sore and will not wake

and my bed,

keeps me late.

The chamber of my dreams

where my nightmares take flight.

Darkness, then a small something.

I feel

Warmth and comfort

like my mother's hugs.

I open my eyes.

Rays of light enter my window

and

The sun shines bright.

"Beep,beep!"

The clock strikes nine.
