Alcoholic Father

Bang, Bang, Bang,

The sound of my father banging on the door to get in,

The door being kicked and pushed from the outside,

The only thing on his way to beat my mother,

As he pushed harder, the door opens,

I run to the room, where my sister is already hiding,

And all I can do is cover her ears, and tell her it’s going to be alright,

I watched her tears sliding down her small face,

Her body shaking to what she’s seeing,

And her screams to make my father stop,

Bang, Bang, Bang,

The sound of my father beating my mother,

The sound of the things he was throwing her way,

The sound of her trying to fight back,

As she’s being dragged on the floor,

When it was over, my father apologized,

Over and over, he apologized,

He blamed the alcohol, for every time he would beat my mom,

But it’s over, because it was time to leave.
