Aletta

Your name reminds me of a warm summer afternoon

Your hair as thick as a forest of the rose of Sharon

Your skin shines like gold and drips like honey while still being perfectly imbalanced

Some parts being fairer than the other.

Aletta why can't you see your beauty?

Do you think it lies within the expectations of others?

Do you believe the past still exists? Do you... want him to?

Do you think that the dresses you wear might upset your parents or the pastor at your church?

Or the time you applied your mother's lipstick and she gave you that nasty glower? Do you let that define you?

Your voice is rocky but i love to hear it so speak to me

Don't hide it

Puberty hitting you like a sledgehammer once again even though you're well over twenty

The doctor's knife pierces you all over while you're in a deep slumber but you want the pain

The pain brings you warmth and peace and comfort and happiness so you embrace the pain.

The pain also brings true love

You don't know what it is? True love? Oh but you do!

You just don't like seeing it or rather, you don't know how to.

Afraid of falling in love and having to open closets that you'd rather have closed

Afraid of falling in love because you're scared that people might judge you for being you

But wait. Is that what you really fear my dear Aletta?

Or is your biggest fear the fear that you may have made the wrong decision and there's no going back?

That this isn't the real you?

Before your blossoming, you were worried that the real you wasn't put in the right anatomy but now it's all better so...

Why are you still scared Aletta?

Society judges you for being you, not wanting to know the real you but only caring that something has changed on you

Still bringing up the past and trying their best to turn you back but...

It's too late. Nothing can be done now

Aletta I want you to be happy

I want to see you smiling while the mean and spiteful people try to bring you down

I want you to show them that you're a brick wall

Show them you're immovable and their harsh words... oh their harsh words

I want you to laugh at those harsh words

Life won't be a bed of roses though Aletta but you have to feel comfortable on the bed of thorns

Making it cozy with the ones who love you for you

Aletta speak!

Aletta dream!

Aletta be happy!

Aletta celebrate the new you

Because the new you is the real you.
