Alex Unfiltered

I close my eyes and look inside

for there I espy a place I can not lie

my true self I want to know

not the one I have put up for show

the man I see is true

trustworthy and honest too

but is it only good that I see

or is there more to me

do my jokes of fun

end up hurting anyone

am I a true friend

or do I just pretend

this is a scary place

but the truth I must face

now I open up my eyes

I am glad the things I realize
