Alive
I am now alive
Not immune,
For I'm completely human,
To the world's pains.
I am now aware
of the groans and moans of a mother
in Africa
wishing to give her children a better life.
I am now a sharer
in the suffering.
I empathize
sympathize
recognize
the need to do something.
I love
to fight for a cause
to support my people
-humans-
to support my brethren
in life.
I am alive.
