Alive

When there’s seems to be nothing to be happy about, just living is a reminder of a miracle. Feeling my pulse, I am reminded that at this moment blood is flowing with my heart, enabling me to live. I take a breath, two, three. so and forth as a reminder not to waste it, for every breath is closer to my last. I flutter my eyes for a while, and seal them shut. Reminding me that seeing is a gift, not a given right, and without it I could not see beauty. The sun traces my skin, and tickles me under the rays, with the wind gently guiding me, as I feel life pulsating not just within me, but outside of me and through me. To laugh, to cry, to shout, to whisper, with every word uttered, to freely speak my mind, to be given speech, let my words be light and kind. I am alive, and that is enough to feel my hearts laughter.
