Alive and fading.
We are born, in tears and in joy, to a family we're supposed to grow with, to love
Some are cherished, some are thrown into a ravenous world, learn to fly like a dove
We grow, we argue and we fight, in the end we come back with hugs and a shove
We seek a special connection, something more than just a glance, as deep as true love
Afraid of mourning broken hearts, exhilirated for what many call puppy love,
We tread the shallow waters of life, feeling so unsure, and sometimes alone
Stuck in the continous ceaseless hallow of their words, that often feel like stone
Thrown in your face when you seek refuge, wondering if the 'bonds' that were sewn
Are strong enough to hold, all the brokenness and hurt within, whose amends you postpone
We walk through life wondering why and how, we can be so alive and yet so gone
For all our flaws, we still hope, someone, somewhere, will be able to condone them.
