All This

Because I love you
I will tell you the truth, no matter how ugly,
no matter how much it hurts
because that is what friends do.
Because I love you
I will wipe away the tears and not tell you that everything will be alright
because it isn’t always that way.
Instead I will be your shoulder to cry on
and remind you every day that you are worth it.
Because I love you
I will let you learn from your mistakes and not hold your hand
but be one step behind you if you need me.
Because I love you
I will support your decisions and respect you.
Because I love you
I will not leave you unless you will it that way.
Because I love you
I dream of being friends until we are old and wrinkled,
laughing at all we have done
and remembering the old times.
Because I love you
I wish to call you friend until I can speak no longer.
All this
Because I love you.
