All Around Me Now

What I do is not too exciting, Answering phones and making copies. But it is my surroundings that pique my interest, And I just sit and watch. Outside my little office window, I see the highway, With cars rushing by every so often. I see grass and trees beyond that, And it captures my attention. Being out in the country, Of course we have open fields. They are mostly empty though, With the occasional glimpse of a horse. As my gaze moves inside, I see blank, lifeless walls. Carpeted floors and filing cabinets, All keeping my here until four o’clock. I prefer to think about what goes on Beyond these office walls. I am surrounded by nature and beauty, But I must wait to see it.
