All That Glitters

Years of pushing through

Crowded halls and stairways

Has taught me that I

Am anything but flawless.

I am flawed.

My body hurts,

It gets covered in bruises,

And acne,

And everything else

Unholy.

Or so deemed by society.

But I look in the mirror

And I see the blood.

The blood of the only One

Who can make me flawless.

I am redeemed.

I am handcrafted.

I am righteous.

I am fearfully and wonderfully made,

Knit together by the hands

That hung the stars

And set the planets in motion.

And that is what makes me

Flawless.
