All Grown Up

The day I received my first paycheck I was ecstatic.

That is until I slowly realized, that getting paid is not what it was advertised to be.

Shortly after being awarded money for my work, my bills took it all.

I was left with chump change for basic needs like food.

I went home starving after a long day, expecting a hot meal on the dinner table.

Then I realized that I live alone.

I prepare my meals, I have to go get my groceries and cook all on my own?!

What was this?

A grown up trap? I don't want to be a grown up anymore.

I don't want to work for free

or

depend on myself

I want to go back to the rent free days, hot meals on the dinner table afterschool, and summer nights hanging out with friends.

I am not a kid anymore
