All I Ever Needed
Your hugs and your face at the end of the day
That's all I ever needed from you.
Eyes, endless stars, grip holds me tight,
And warmth that keeps me from the blue.
Spellbinding hair from perfect to frizzy,
Never ceases to bring me a smile
Your smile and smirk shine forth underneath
Hold my nerves still for awhile
Your wit and your sass at the end of the day,
That's all I ever needed from you
A quip, a line that points our the inner idiot,
And to cold, dark, inside, burns though.
And a laugh, oh a laugh as bright as the sun
Melts the chains of past pain, lets me soar
When the result of my own handiwork
Reminds me of what there is to live for.
Your heart and your head at the end of the day
That's all I ever needed from you.
To comfort, to love, to straighten my head
Enough to think of what is good, including you
So know my quill speaks and speaks freely
Proverbs I hope will hold true
Your love oh your love at the end of the day
That's all I'll ever need from you
