All I Need

A question frequently asked.

A thought I've often pondered.

Always blank, always dark, ever vague.

My answer was never decided,

Not until I met him.

A flowery romance I always detested,

A love I didn't see coming.

The kind of thing I only ever laughed at,

Now the only thing that mattered.

I saw him in everything I did.

That question was frequently asked.

And now whenever I ponder,

Never dark, always concise, always determined.

My answer is decided.

All I need, all I ever needed, was him.

Because without him my heart is emptier,

Than the hypothetical, uninhabited island everyone seems to think about so much.
