All I Need

Bound in paper, pages new

Scent of ink, black or blue,

Spine cracks open, loosening glue,

Hardback, paperback, written by who?

Books on a self, a whole library's worth,

All I need is a book and a cozy hearth,

To sit with some characters, their stories unfurled,

In my wake, I've left a self bare,

So please excuse me while I start on that shelf over there.
