All I Need

Silence

To live in silence is a beautiful thing

There is the low hum of my

Favorite band in the background

As I read my favorite book

Drink my favorite tea

In my favorite shirt

This is my happy place

Where there are no problems

I can forget my problems

Engulf myself in silence because

I know it won’t last forever

The silence of everyone around me

Is freeing

Is my stress relief

It means I have nothing to worry about

I can’t just leave the silence

I have grown attached

It has become an unhealthy attachment

I recognized this some time ago

I now avoid the people I love

To stay in  my silence

I can't have anyone be apart of it

I can't give it up

I can't get help

I can't do anything but sit in my silence

I am afraid to try to get rid of it

I am more afraid of the people

The noise that is created

The volume that will accumulate

Silence is something I cannot live without

Even if I tried
