All I Need

All I need is fairness in a world

where it seems it does not exist.

Where it feels as though

every ounce of what I do

is measured and judged by people

who don’t have a right to look at me

the way that they do.

I dream of equality

in a society who sees everyone

differently.

We live in a place where each person

has a rank.

There is always one person

better than another.

We abide in a place where

the color of your skin is more important

than the government

breaking apart rapidly.

Gay marriage is accepted,

but we cannot get acceptance

for who we were born to be.

I could easily abide

if all I had was a place

in which we can live freely,

not just exist.

A world where everyone is loved,

not just coped with.

I do not want to be overseen anymore.

I want to be recognized.
