All I Need - 3200

Eight laps

Hour bus ride

Our bus ride

Not feeling right inside

Not alone

Too afraid of the unknown

Still not alone

Prepare alone

Setting goals

Standing on our soles

Moving on our soles

Living with our souls

Sweat drips right before

try to ignore

The thoughts invading your mind

Will you fail?

Will you fall?

Ka-Paw!

No more thinking

just doing

Last isn't bad

at first.

Stick with the pack

Then hunt the rest down like wolves

Two miles

3200 meters

8 Laps

Life no longer just passes by

You're now floating in the sky

Mind

Body

Soul

Working in Unison

Everyone is yelling,

But not as loud as your mind

Only You know

But Everyone is yelling.

Talking to self

But not trying to listen

just doing.

One mile left

1600 meters left

You kick yourself

Your mind clenches

Doubt creeps in

"You are terrible,

Do you really think you'll win?"

Your targets change

It is no longer you versus everyone else

It is now you versus yourself

It's painful to continue

But it hurts much worse if you stop

Body becomes tight

but you keep up the fight

Like an enduring knight

Well into the unforgiving night

1/2 mile

800 meters

Two laps

 Purpose is created

Prove to yourself that you can accomplish so much

So much more than you had previously thought

Thoughts

Don't Think

Just Do

1/4 mile

400 meters

One Lap

The feeling bursts back in

You might actually win!

All out

Everything you have left

Leave nothing

No regrets

Prove to yourself

Everything

Everything that you are capable of

Everything that you didn't know before

Everyone is with you

0 miles

0 meters

Zero Laps

You did it!

You Won!

Though

You received no medals

No Tangible objects that may prove success

You may not have beaten first place

second place

or even second to last

But you did beat one person

You

You proved to You

Your Capabilities

Your Power

The power to fight the negative with postitive

the power to succeed in your way

Without this sense of self-accomplishment

This sense created by 3200 race

Would you be a disgrace?

Without this race

No sense of awesomeness would be formed within you

No sense of togetherness would be formed within you

Would you still have as many friends?

Would you still hold yourself to the highest regard?

Would you still be You?

Because guess what?

You just proved the impossible possible

For I Would rather live by a knife

Than live any different life,

Without those 3200 meters.
