All I Need

All I need

Is a friendly smile

late night takeout

lying on your shoulder.

All I need

is your voice on the phone

when I’m lost,

when I’m tired,

when I’m afraid,

when I’m alone.

All I need

is to know that you’re there.

Even if

you’re

two thousand miles

away.

Because

a real friend

is always there.

A light in the darkness,

of a cruel world.

A real friend

is a warm breeze

in an endless winter.

All I need,

is a confidant.

A secret keeper

someone to cry with

who doesn’t judge

and someone to laugh with

Who always loves.

All I need

is a friend.
