All I Need

Surrounded by material

It's hard to just see

What is suddenly cherished

When you get up and leave.

I'm standing on an island,

No house, no car,

When all that I love

Is gone so far.

All that I need

is someone to hold,

When I'm tired and weary

And the night then turns old.

Someone, just anyone,

To keep me focused all day

So mind can keep still

And won't run away.

The talks are so long,

And it's suddenly clear

That all that I need

Is myself in the mirror.
