All I Need

An abandoned isle

Out at sea,

No one e're

To hear from me.

No food - no water,

No luxuries-

Just me, my thoughts

A tropical breeze.

I think of home

That faraway place,

And of my mother's

Warm embrace.

I look out on

The big, blue sea.

I'm here for now

And here I'll be.

I'm not distraught

Though you'd assume.

Tis one small ray

In the gloom...

One thing I have

Not books or toys,

It's all I need

No temporal joy.

One small smile,

Forget the stress

This isn't the end

I make my happiness.

I'll survive,

I know I will

Because I'm patiently

Waiting, still...

An abandoned isle

Out at sea,

No one e're

To hear from me.
