All I need

Trapped all alone,

Deserted,

Without this one thing I can't make it

I land on an island,

With choice to take one thing with me,

I put it in my hand, and my hand on my heart

I knew that my decision was key

A handful is all I would need

I know i don't need a lot

Just enough for me

To keep going

I know my decision is the right one

So onwards I press

Filled without a trace of regrets

All other things are useless in comparison

Without it food becomes a thing not desired

Water becomes a chore to drink

And I would find myself too cold for any fire

And a blade will find itself facing the wrong way

History has shown that this one thing is a lifesource

And anyone without it is lifeless,

People with material things would trade their all for this

Because without it they would die within a matter of moments,

Hope,

Hard to find but easy to lose

With it I have the strength to do anything

A change of perspective can save a life

Trapped all alone,

Deserted,

With this one thing I can make it
