All I Need
I know you don't see me
The way I see you
When I plead with your indifference
As you hold true
But the truth is
Indifference spreads, blazing
Like a forest fire
Through the rain that perplex
And muddy the landscape
And the prisoners are left to eny
The flying birds, afraid of heights
Wanting to shape the clouds
And taste the sun
Eyes are not windows to the soul any more than
Jail cells are a refuge
But I, trembling, am locked on yours
We spent a lot of time with our eyes closed
Or at least you did
When you kissed me there wasn't a hint of fireworks
Just rolling waves of lightening and thunder
That reminded me that I didn't want to be alone
We are both creatures of the night
Our habits are formed by speeding cars and the stars above
And feeling as reckless as we feel lost
Now we're six hours away
Not five minutes
You're just out of your cell
I'm flying through the city
Clinging to what I can never evade
I want you to taste the sun
And shape the clouds
Darling, I hope in the future
All I need
All I need.
