All I Need

If there is something that I cannot live without,

it would be my imagination, without a doubt.

I was adopted and family means a lot,

and there are things that I have bought,

that I hold close and cherish dearly,

but it is my imagination I choose clearly.

Like a real life version of 'Nim's Island',

I raised myself without a hand.

I have friends that live inside my head,

from shows and movies or books I've read.

I trust them because I know they won't leave,

and that's one less person I have to grieve.

I close myself inside a shell,

and throw reality down the well.

It is imagination I have learned to feed,

because imagination is all I need.
