All I need

All my life I had to fight

I had to fight for grades

I had to fight to fit in

I had to fight to help others

I had to fight to receive help from others

I had to fight to show that I knew more than they thought

And I had to fight to prove I'm strong

My whole life is a battle

A battle to show that I won't fail

A battle to show that I'm not like anybody else

A battle to show that my age doesn't define my intelligence

In that battle, I've lost friends

I've lost people I thought were friends

But I've never lost my family

The two people who cared for me most

Who battled with me through all my life

Who helped me battle the stress, and pain

The two people who were by my side through it all

If there was anything that I could never live without

Anything that I would die before giving it away

Is the love that was given to me

By my parents

When I needed them most
