All I Need Could Be

All I need Could be Any number of things Really. But your lips sound dazzling, A smile would be pleasing, and I don't think I'd mind if time began freezing. The one thing I need To live on As who I may be Is just that; Me. All I need is who I am. My mom ain't proud of me, My dad don't hardly know me, And friends are all rather picky On how I am to portray myself As if my display of self Will be a mockery- A betrayal for be-headment Where they'll display it on the shelf. All I need is a smirk in the mirror And a thought Bubbling up To find Whatever it is that will be mine. All I need is myself And who I am. That's all anyone needs really. If you have yourself Honestly Then you've got a lot of company, And you could have even more, As long as you can sift through the scrutiny. All I need is me; I am who I say I am. And I say I'm what I need.
