All I need is Knowledge

If I were all alone

No one around or a home

All I would need is knowledge.

To help me understand life and get me through college.

I'd need a book. Pages and chapters.

A book full of tales and stories and laughter.

Old worn out paper filling my mind.

The words written down expressing someone else life.

Facts and fiction.

Mystery and love.

To know it all would help me climb above.

Above the stereotypes that I won't make it

To show the world that a black girl did it.

She found her way through the woods and over rivers.

Past the trials and tribulations

She did it!

And all she needed was a book.
