All I Need (is the Music in Me)

My heart creates the bass note

Steady pulses resonate

The beat of the music

Pours in, to produce a melody

Of sound waves washing over me

Suddenly my body is a machine

Freshly oiled, moving fluidly

And everything is in harmony

My unshackled soul

Can free my mind

Of typical thoughts of humankind

I've lost myself

To the rhythm of time

To the action of giving in

I’m not sure when

Music became living

But I can’t go a day without this feeling
