All I Need Is Myself
All I need is myself.
Maybe that sounds selfish to you, but allow me to elaborate.
We are alone in this world.
Not in some type of sad, cryptic way, but alone nonetheless.
I view myself as the foundation of my life. I am the bare minimum, the essential.
Without myself, and my sanity, and my own inner peace, I have nothing.
I am not the people who surround me or the people who prefer not to.
I am not money, or materials, or my family. I am not my loved ones nor do I need them to exist.
I am myself. I am my brain and my thoughts and ideas. I choose to have people in my life whom's company I do enjoy, but they are not necessary.
I recognize my own power. All I need is myself.
All I need is my mind, and my capabilities. I do not need the admiration or approval of others to thrive, even if sometimes it feels like without one's liking I can't exist.
Of course I don't always feel like a person who can handle herself completely independently, or who can take on the world without a hand to hold, but at the end of the day, I know that I am.
All I need, all that I truly need, is myself. Within myself is my power. I am all that I need.
