All I Need Is Quiet

I’m using it right now.
It’s my favorite thing.
It’s helping me write this,
For all of you to read.
All I need is quiet.

It comes when I am sad,
And it makes me happy.
It holds the most anger,
And it gives off passion.
All I need is quiet.

After I’m in a fight,
And I’m healing the wounds,
It surrounds my sobbing,
And cradles all my pain.
All I need is quiet.

When I can’t understand,
Another’s point of view,
Or even my own thoughts,
I turn to the silence.
All I need is quiet.

one, two, three, four, five, six.
one, two, three, four, five, six.
one, two, three, four, five, six.
one, two, three, four, five, six.
All I need is quiet.

It’s my only solace.
It’s always by my side.
It’s my best companion.
I can’t live without it.
All I need is quiet.
