All I Need is the Sky

All I Need is the Sky

There are no golden tickets,

no miracles,

no blessings,

when the sky is truly lost.

And there is no cost

of the clouds, or the birds,

or the planes, or the words

that people shout.

Ugh, what am I talking about?

People don't understand the sky,

or the things that it can hold.

But sometimes, in order to understand,

you just have to be bold.

And being bold is not easy,

courage isn't just handed to you.

You have to rise above the conventional wisdom

and then the opaque world will be yours to see through.

It's called truth - and u can find it in the sky.

You see, the sky is full of freedom and expression,

love and exception,

depression and aggression,

bliss and deception.

But if you can see all these things as they really are,

then you're one step closer to landing on Mars.

One step closer to driving your own car.

One step closer to lighting the spark

that ignites the one thing I hold dearest to my heart-

and that is truth,

and you can find it in the sky.

But no one knows why.

No one wants to know why.

Don't confuse me with the facts - keep on walking and maintain your pride.

That's the problem with this life.

No one wants to be cut with the knife

of truth,

but you can find it in the sky.

So take me to an island, an island far away

and let me all alone, by myself to stay.

But promise me this - let me bring one thing.

Let me bring the sky, for I shall not live in vain.

Teachers educate me on the things I need to know.

They're fundamental, yes, but I know I want to write in prose

for the rest of my life, change the minds of others - that's just how it goes.

And if that doesn't flow?

So what? I don't give a-

forget the people that break you down, turn you around and kick you out of town.

Listen to the people around you

only if they say good things,

because if you absorb that positivity

then you won't have any more pain.

Another way to get rid of pain? Go to church.

The people there never stop lovin’.

Put me in an institutional oven.

Add some religious seasoning and bake me

so they can tell me that my reasoning forsakes me,

that I need a savior but nobody can save me?

It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not.

If you believe in something - anything - then nobody can tell you to stop.

Because you have faith in something no one else can see

except you because you believe

and isn't that the whole purpose of reality?

To find a heart in a beautiful fantasy?

It's called truth, and you can find it in the sky.

I cannot live without - you cannot live without - no one cannot live without

truth.

And that is the truth.

Open your eyes,

open your mind.

The most beautiful things in life

are just in disguise.

But you can find them, guys!

You can find them in the sky.

And that

is not

a lie.

But no one knows why.

No one wants to know why.

Don't confuse me with the facts - let me keep on walking and let me maintain my pride.

That's the problem with life.

No one wants to be cut with a knife

of truth,

but you can find truth

in the sky.

So take me to an island, an island far away

and let me all alone, by myself to stay.

But promise me this - let me bring one thing.

Let me bring the sky, for I shall not live in vain.
