All I Need Is Words
If I were stuck on a deserted island,
Separated, isolated form the world,
All the things of the world couldn't,
Wouldn't, be able to save me,
Keep me from the despair.
The fact is, this island isn't
Just in my imagination,
Nor is it just a metaphor.
This island is my reality,
This island is my depression.
This island is my past,
And is currently my present.
However, this island,
In its present form,
Doesn't have to be my future,
There's just one thing I need,
Just one thing to take away.
The despair, the isolation.
I have a whole world available,
Available to listen, to understand.
All I need are the words,
The words to let go of my past,
The words to propel me into the future.
No man is an island when he is,
Able to speak his mind.
I can get off this island,
As soon as I find the words.
