All I Will Ever Need

Fri, 01/15/2016 - 11:29 -- Walter

Where the wind blows some will never know

Across vast seas and open meadows or someplace where it snows.

The power of reading with the skill of learning

One of many traits of good discerning.

Like the wind, the yearning of knowledge blows,

Around the world where the trait of enlightment grows.

Whether buried in a valley, or standing on a mountain,

The will to learn bubbles forth like a flowing fountain.

Place me where you will, in a steel box or some little nook,

But grant me a wish of  this one tiny book.

Though it may seem small and irelevant to compare,

To a giant castle floating somewhere in the air.

A book gives you room to explore,

Unlike the castle where you walk through the same door.

The amazing imagination that one can possess,

Is more important than some golden chest.
