All in One Moment

Dear destroyer,

Hungry hearts aren't satisfied
Too many goodbyes
They carve holes
Through the soul

Oh where's the satisfaction
Why do these things happen
Where do we turn
Will we burn
It's time to learn
How to feed all these hungry hearts

I set out to tend
Take time to mend
Some broken
Some golden

I'd be yours if you let me
But I can't wait forever
Reassure before it's too late
Don't let the scarcity of time dictate our fate

Little stars of joy gleam from your crystal clear eyes
My ocean blue eyes swell up with tears
Deep secrets of my years
Dwell with you

And in that moment it hit me
I dove straight into your faulty sea
I sank beneath your waves
Anchored down

In the moment you chose to ignore me
You looked me up and down
A mere glimpse near my direction
Leaving me on my own

I kept quiet and let you walk past
Like you had never met me

A stranger to my present

It all happened in an instant
All this time
All that was given
Only to be explained by one single moment

Love,

The broken heart
