All That Is Poetry

Through the poetic beats,

We learn as if in the library seats.

But here I think all that is poetry

Is strength beyond our means.

It touches the tired and the weary,

And it fills the seams.

Once it seemed to a younger me,

That the world was cold and dreary.

But the poets shared in my agony

With tales of thunder and tragedy.

And so, the struggles of poetic lives

Echo in all that we strive.

The lessons of history,

That is all that is poetry.
