All the while

As the grease thickens in her hair While the acne begins to flare Her eyes grow sunken and dull While she feels shrunken and a throbbing begins in her skull All the caring words she once held high While the memory begins to make her cry Her throat burns as her last meal now sits on the dirty ground While her stomach begins to rumble, making a nasty sound All her razors are broken While the blades have been taken Her thoughts always seem to circle back While the girl she thinks about had been her heart’s last intact As her body strains with every step she makes While the joy she once carried has been left in its wake Her voice grows soft, fading into the wind While the once radiant sound still lingers in the girl that she had been. As the beating in her chest slows to a stop While her “friends” haven’t been thinking much of her, not wanting to go over the top Her hands fall limp at her side While the earth keeps spinning, almost like she had been nothing more than a girl who couldn’t help but hide
