For all the times I needed it

Wishing for a way

Thoughts running through my mind

That maybe, maybe one day

I’ll learn to leave it all behind

The only sound was the machine

So peaceful in that bed

Little lines across the screen

Please don't end up dead

Nothing was going right

Everything was all wrong

I knew I needed to put up a fight

I needed to stay strong

Hands tense and shaking

My pencil on the line

The deep breaths I’m taking

Everything should be fine

Burning lungs and sweaty hands

Everyone was tired

We could feel ambition in the stands

We knew we were inspired

One thing that helped me through

A feeling to help you cope

Something without, I could not do

Something I call hope
