All We Had Was Lost
Everything I build shatters like glass
Held a building without foundation and it collapsed
The shell I use to protect my delicate heart
Is made of porcelain but it still breaks apart
It's like being in space without an EMU
Floating through the depth of darkness in the desolate silence
Silence feels like ear-piercing screaming
Goosebumps from the visuals I'm seeing
It's so loud seeing individuals cry in silence
Their mind wails with thoughts that are so violent
"Quiet is violent" is what he once said
As he shaved his head with intent but they still never understood what it meant.
Being judged for trusting and expressing my pain
Constantly being beated with every word that's spat at my face
Being called mentally weak
Influences the withdrawal of emotions and orders "do not speak"
Minimizing experiences until you need glasses
Questioning "Do I matter?"
Placed this mind on a platter
One look and immediately repulsed
Looked at with immaturity and I thought we were adults
A constant stigma against expression
Leading to forced suppression
Look at my face and call me weak
But I know where I stand and I will repeat
I got this far battling my demons
I will not let your toxicity and audacity be something that weakens
My person
And I don't care if everything we had was lost.
