All We Need is a Little Understanding
Why is it that all teens are made out to be bad?
All children with harsh upbringings made out to be immature?
I am not a bad kid.
Young and restless, yes.
Full of fear, yes.
But I am not young and out to destroy you.
All I want is to be accepted into the world,
I want to be loved and have a place to call home.
All teens need is a little bit of understanding.
A lot of love,
And maybe a friend or two.
We all need to grow up,
We all have a lot to learn,
But with how adults see us now,
We don't get the chance.
Our leashes are nonexistant now.
We have no freedom,
Unless our parents are unfit.
When we have unfit parents we go down the wrong path.
I'm not saying we need to be let loose,
We need to be understood,
We need to be given room to learn,
To become independent.
To grow up,
And learn about how the real world works.
