All of You to Leave Behind

Isn't it hard, so hard, to forget?

To leave you behind.

To leave behind your smile,

your adorable laugh,

your charming expressions,

the look, the look, THAT look- in your eyes.

Your precious puppy dog eyes

that I'll miss so damn much.

Because your eyes, THOSE eyes

will be looking at another.

That smile, that sweet, genuine smile,

bursting with energy and life

will be making someone else smile.

Those arms and hands of yours

will be caressing the skin of another

some day.

And it makes me sick, thoroughly sick

to know this.

I am so angry! So. Angry.

That this slipped away.

What I saw would have been so perfect.

It almost was. It almost was.
